Orrin Hatch

Jeff got invited to have lunch with Sen. Orrin Hatch when he came to BYU to give an Alumni Lecture. It didn't quite work out like he had hoped, Orrin's sister force fed him leftovers :) but his dad bought him a new suit and he got a picture with Sen. Hatch. So it wasn't all bad.

Coop has figured out the art of crawling! Jeff thought this day would never come since he would only rock back and forth for a couple of months. It's so funny to watch him crawl because sometimes he looks like a robo-baby with his torso remaining still but his arms and legs moving :). He is also pulling himself up and pushing off so that he is standing without support. I'm not ready for him to walk... I still leave things too low. Don't worry I promise he does own clothes he just happened to be just wearing a onesie when I took the pics :)

Say Cheese?

For Christmas last year my little brother gave us a gift certificate to Kiddie Kandids so we could get pictures taken of Coop. So a couple of weeks ago we made the trek to the mall to get the pictures taken. It actually was a pleasant experience except they convinced me to spend WAY too much money. Oh well. I like them :)

Summer Over, Time to Blog

We realize that most people don't really care about what is going on with us, they just want pictures of Cooper. Since that is probably the truth, we are going to give a short recap of some of the things we did this summer and then proceed to drop in a bunch of cute pictures of baby. Its really hard to remember everything but some of the fun things we did were going to the MLS all-star game at Rio Tinto stadium, visiting Lagoon with my family, and getting family pictures. I (Jeff) am starting school right now and taking a few geography classes and working on my honors thesis. Deena's life mostly revolves around baby as he is a quite a demanding little fellow. She is crafting alot more and I love her cooking! Baby is 7 months now and spends most of his time sucking on his feet or doing other baby things, big surprise there, right? We are not looking forward to the eternal winters of Provo but that is part of the Utah experience. Living next to the Bertelsens is great. Deena and Robin see each other often I have found new ways of bugging Neal. The other day I found a stray black cat and lovingly named him AIDS. He seemed hungry so I opened a can of tuna and threw some chunks at him which he gobbled up. I didnt really want him coming around our apartment so I fed him outside of Neal's apartment which he now thinks must be connected with food. Ive heard he comes around often and yowls into the cracks in the doorway and is generally just a nuisance. I think its hilarious. Apparently he has a mate, or at least a "friendly friend" which Neal dubbed HIV. I haven't seen him come up to the door yet. Maybe I could lure him with some tuna...

July updates pt. 1

July has been a busy/fun month for us. Here are the happenings from the first half of July (second half to come later :D ) We started out July by finding a new apartment (yea!). I am super excited about it because it is double the size of our current apartment. Now we will have room to store all of Cooper's stuff. We move in on August 8th and I'll post pictures after we have settled in. We celebrated July 4th with our friends from South Dakota. We went swimming at our friend Joshua Cooper's pool (which was actually super funny because he is still single and we scared the other patrons at his complex's pool with out two babies and they quickly moved to the other end of the pool plus he was up in Logan :D). After we had a barbecue and once it got dark the Bertelsen's busted out the sparklers. Jeff and Neal tried to take a picture to add to the "hump files" but it didn't completely work. (they blamed it on the camera taking too long to take the pictures but it really was because they didn't jump at the same time.) That's all for now... enjoy the pictures

Recent Happenings

Since it is now summer we decided it was time to introduce the pool to Cooper. Jeff has always loved the water and we hoped that Coop would too. He didn't at first but he's getting better.





For Memorial Day we went up to Kaysville to make the usual cemetery rounds and on the way back we stopped to check out Bianca's new apartment. Luckily this time I remembered the camera so that I could take a picture of Coop with her and her husband, Kyle.




My brother just younger than me graduated from High School at the end of May and Coop and I went to the commencement with my family. It only lasted like 45 minutes! It was wonderful.

4 month stats

Coop went a couple of weeks ago for his 4 month check up and to get the next round of shots. He did really good with the injections and his body had a very strong secondary immune response so he was pretty miserable for the next couple of days.
Here are the stats:
Height: 26 inches (70th percentile)
Weight: 14lbs. 3 ozs. (20th percentile)
Head: 16.53 inches (20th percentile)

Baby Blessing

Cooper was blessed on May 3rd at our ward here in Provo. Jeff was nervous but he did a great job. After we went to my Grandma's best friend's house for a meal. Here are some of the pictures I took.

More Updates

Cooper surprised us about a week ago by rolling over during "tummy time". He finally did it again today and I was able to record it. I have to admit it was a relief because I was afraid that I had neglected his development since I didn't really start doing "tummy time" until after I graduated. In other updates.... Jeff is currently going to school full time and working as an American Heritage TA while I stay at home with baby.

Once again I have slacked in the posting front but I'm adjusting to mommyhood so deal :). I have been informed that someone is attempting to blogstalk but there is nothing so I need to update. So here it is...The biggest update in the Robbins' household is that we are finally done with this semester! Which means I have concluded my undergrad career. I have mixed emotions but am super glad to be done. Cooper is growing steadily and got his 2 month shots on April 29th (yes I know it's late... doing finals and dealing with a sick baby didn't sound like fun). We are currently perfecting the art of smiling and talking... well Coop has woken up so I'll try to post more later

Cooper Thaddeus

So, I definitely have been slacking in the blog front (I knew I would) but have received requests to update it, so here I go. Cooper decided that he was ready to enter the world two weeks early. Don't be too jealous because I was in labor for about a week. I had him on February 11th at 10:54pm. He weighed 6lbs 4ozs and was 181/2 inches long. He had some breathing problems due to swallowing some amniotic fluid on the way out but is totally fine now. We stayed in the hospital until Friday morning and I have been spending the last week trying to recoup and getting used to having a child before going back to school next week. Jeff has been sick for the past week or so and is just trying to handle being a dad and going to school. Basically we are loving being parents and wouldn't trade it for anything.
